CSAI Research

This section contains research and reports from key organisations protecting the rights of children, specifically in working to establish a global standard with regard to the sexual abuse of children and their continued abuse by way of continued distribution, possession and sale of child sexual abuse imagery (CSAI).

The Internet....
  • Is a tool for paedophiles and sexual predators
  • Is used to distribute child pornography
  • Enables offenders to groom children without parents knowing
  • Provides environments such as chat rooms to groom children for sex
  • Leads to child abuse

Childhood exposure to pornography and paedophiles....

  • can lead to deviant sexual practice and rape.
  • Pornography that depicts violence and dehumanization interferes with the development of values and identity.
  • desensitizes children who begin to see pornography as 'normal'
  • steals children's innocence

It should not be part of childhood.

Enough research has gone into the effects of early exposure to pornography to leave no doubt as to the damage this can do to children who either inadvertently are exposed to pornography (highly likely on the Internet) or sadly targeted and abused by paedophiles who use the Internet as their hunting ground. Protect Kids

Children who are exposed to pornography or form online relationships with strangers whether intentionally or unintentionally usually don't tell their parents.

According to Beyond Borders statistically one out of every five children are approached by a stranger online. The problems associated with the exploitation of children using the Internet are real.
