Businesses working with Watchdog

Watchdog have implemented 8e6 technologies for many years in the education sector in New Zealand building a 'education appropriate filtered service' business model for other ISPs. It now distributes 8e6 Filtering Technologies in the Asia-Pacific region. 8e6 recently merged with Marshal to become Marshal8e6.

Watchdog are the sole distributors for NetClean products in the Asia-Pacific region. We also have arrangements with them to work in the UK, Canada, India and other countries.

Google has appointed Watchdog Corporation as their preferred partner to the education sector in New Zealand and is also exploring international opportunities with Watchdog.

Watchdog are partnering with Webshield in the Australian market offering hosted internet filtering services in the Federal Government trial of both 8e6, NetClean and Watchdog's tunneling technologies.

Just like Watchdog in New Zealand, Webshield is Australia's first content filtered internet service provider supplying filtering to families, schools and businesses.

IBM work alongside Watchdog International implementing the NetClean business network filtering technology ProActive within government and corporate computer networks.

Watchdog originally built their ISP business based on providing filtered Internet connections to home customers and increasingly focused on the education market. In 2004 it had become the largest provider of safe Internet services to New Zealand schools. The New Zealand Ministry of Education then contracted Watchdog to provide managed internet services and the company is now providing these to almost half of all schools in the county.

Watchdog have championed the development of CSAI filtering in New Zealand working with the Department of Internal Affairs Censorship Compliance Unit who have involved most major ISPs to trial the NetClean Whitebox filtering technology blocking access to known CSAI on the Internet.

NGOs

Child Wise
(ECPAT Australia)

Watchdog has provided assistance to Child Wise who are supporters of technologies and solutions that assist in combating the online sexual abuse of children.

Child Wise is Australia's only child protection organisation dedicated to protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation of children in Australia, Asia and the Pacific. At Child Wise, we know the biggest threat to children’s futures is abuse. It destroys lives; which is why we believe in protecting children's futures. Through integrated protection, prevention and recovery programs we seek to prevent child abuse by providing greater awareness and understanding; as well as providing the tools and strategies for individuals, organisations and communities to address these issues. We combine direct support, counselling, education, advocacy, program implementation, participatory training, capacity building and research to provide a comprehensive, strong and specialised service that provides dynamic responses to protect children everywhere.

Watchdog has worked alongside ECPAT NZ for 5 years, with Peter Mancer as both a board member and consultant to the ECPAT organisation. ECPAT NZ was founded in NZ and has grown to become a global network of organisations with 80 groups in over 70 countries who work to protect children's rights of freedom from sexual abuse and provide resources to assist child victims. ECPAT's core mission is the elimination of child prostitution, child pornography and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes.
